Sony RX10M4 Photos

A few years ago a friend and I were out at the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge taking pictures of birds with my 24-240 lens. I couldn’t zoom in as close as I wanted and noticed other photographers with those big zoom lenses. Talking with a fellow photographer that day I realized I needed to upgrade my lens game if I wanted to get those closer pictures.

But I didn’t want to spend thousands of dollars on a big heavy lens that would be a drag to carry around and would also require me to carry a “normal” lens. What to do? I’m a Sony camera fan and I heard about the latest 1-inch sensor camera – Sony RX100M4 – with a long zoom lens that was built for BIF (Birds In Flight) pictures. With a focal range of 24mm to 600mm (equivalent to full frame) I could take this camera with me and shoot in a variety of environments. The small 1-inch sensor was something to think about, but I’ve been delighted at the pictures this camera captures.

So, here are my 10 favorite photos from this camera – with a bonus picture as the featured image. I encourage you to click on any of the images that strike your family to get bigger views. The focal lengths listed are the 35mm equivalents

When the cherries are ripe in the green space, the racoons love to go to the salad bar. One summer evening we were eating on the deck with friends when we noticed this racoon.
